I love, love, LOVE making sweet treats and homemade edible gifts for the holidays. There is nothing better than packaging up cookies and candies and giving them to friends and family, and seeing their facial expression when they take that first bite! For years I've made peppermint bark, but this year I wanted to try something different. Equally as decadent and delicious, and even minty, I started making OREO Cookie Balls. When my kids couldn't keep out of the first batch I made, I knew this was a winner!
OREO Cookie Balls are so easy to make and they are simply delicious. You only need three ingredients for the treats themselves, and edible decorations if you want to dress them up. THREE ingredients! That's it! And it's a great project to do with the kids, too. They will have fun rolling the balls and then dipping them in the chocolate.
Each year I host a holiday get together for all of my girlfriends. We eat, drink, listen to Christmas tunes and laugh (a lot!). I made these OREO Cookie Balls with them in mind. I added a couple of cute snowflake sprinkles to the top of each one, then placed them in mini cupcake liners to look even more festive. I had a plate out on the table for everyone to nibble on, but then I put a few of the Cookie Balls in clear packaging and wrapped them up for all the girls to take home.
