Yields 4 servings

5 oz (140 g) ground lamb
5 oz (140 g) smoked bacon, coarsely chopped
1 cup (112 g) Italian breadcrumbs
3 green onions, chopped
1 tbsp (15 ml) strong mustard
2 tbsp (30 ml) fresh basil
Juice of 1 lemon
1 egg
Salt
Pepper
Hot sauce
Worcestershire sauce
8 wet bamboo skewers
Olive oil
Chili powder
Sour cream


Instructions
 
Place all ingredients, except bamboo skewers, in food processor with olive oil, chili powder and sour cream. Purée until smooth. Season to taste with salt, pepper, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce.

Divide mixture into eight equal servings. Shape around skewers into well-packed oval cylinders. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with chili powder. Grill on barbecue over medium-high heat for 10 to 12 minutes turning occasionally. Serve two cones per person over bed of lettuce, with rice and sour cream.
