1 cup dark brown sugar [189 g]
½ cup granulated sugar [100 g]
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour [195 g]
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
½ tbsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups old fashioned oatmeal, uncooked [120 g]
1 cup dried cherries [152 g]
Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Layer in quart jar in this order: flour mixture, cherries, oatmeal, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Seal jar and decorate as desired.
Attach to Jar: Cherry Oatmeal Cookies
1 Jar Cherry Oatmeal Cookies Mix
2 large eggs [110 g]
1 cup sweet butter, softened at room temperature [227 g]
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream the butter with eggs and vanilla and beat for several minutes until light and fluffy. Mix together with cookie mix and stir well. Drop the batter by tbsp onto lightly greased cookie sheets and bake until the edges ate just turning brown, approximately 12 minutes. Let the cookies cool in the pan for a minute or two, then remove them to racks to cool completely.
Yields 4 dozen.
