2 fresh ginger chunks, peeled
5 to 6 oz (140 g to168 g) 8 shark steaks
Soy Sauce Marinade:
3 tbsp (42.6 g) melted butter
3 tbsp (45 ml) soy sauce
2 tbsp (30 ml) chili sauce (ketchup style)
Crushed hot pepper
Freshly ground pepper
Instructions Rub bottom and sides of large rectangular ovenproof dish with one chunk of fresh ginger. With other chunk, rub both sides of each shark steak. Place steaks in baking dish, add ginger chunks and Soy Sauce Marinade. Turn steaks to coat well. Season to taste with crushed hot pepper and ground pepper. Marinate to taste for 1 to 3 hours in refrigerator.
Cook on grill or in buttered skillet for 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until fish just flakes when tested with a fork. Brush steaks with marinade while cooking. Serve immediately with bulgur salad.
Soy Sauce Marinade:
In bowl, mix well all ingredients. Set aside.
