Grown Up BBQ Chicken Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
2 Tyson BBQ chicken tenders
4 slices of marble rye bread
5 oz of thinly sliced, Smoked White cheddar cheese
Haystack from above (inside and to top)
Instructions
1] Preheat a large pan on medium heat and lightly grease it.
2] Lay out the 2 slices of bread and top them off with half of the cheese slices.
3] Slice the chicken tender in long strips and spread them out on top of the cheese.
4] Top off the chicken with some haystack.
5] Cover with the remaining cheese and then cover with remaining bread.
6] Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side (you may have to cover it for a few minutes for the cheese to melt better).
7] Top off the sandwich with some more haystack.
Haystack - Thin Fried Onion Straws
Ingredients
1/2 medium yellow onion
1 cup of buttermilk
1 1/2 cups of flour
salt, pepper
About 2-3 cups of vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
1] Slice the onion, width-wise, thinly.
2] Submerge the sliced onion in the buttermilk and set aside for about 30 minutes.
3] Mix the four, salt and pepper in a large shallow bowl.
4] Heat up the oil in the large pot, on medium high heat (or fryer).
5] Take out the onion from the buttermilk and shake it off, lightly.
6] Throw the onions in the flour, spread them out and toss in flour mixture.
7] Fry the onion straws until golden brown.
8] Spread them out on a paper towel to soak the excess oil.
